Happy Humpday! We have made it halfway through the week! Today I wanted to recognize our dear friend Ryan Kilgore on the release on his album, Just Walk.
A brief reminder, Ryan plays the saxophone for Stevie Wonder and played at our wedding in Cancun, Mexico. Here is a picture of T and I with Ryan after the Stevie Wonder concert in March. Read about that experience here.
Ryan is so sweet, down to earth, and TALENTED! It's so inspiring and refreshing to see someone really following their dreams. Go Ryan Go!
For more information about Ryan Kilgore, check out his Wikipedia Page here, his Faceboook here, and sample or purchase his album here. We love you, Ryan!

Happy Tuesday! After going through withdrawls once I finished Serial (read about it here), I was on the hunt for my next fix. Then, insert into my life, Audible.com (Thanks Cheryl!!)
After chatting with my co-worker about our love for books and good storytelling, she mentioned to me how much she loves audiobooks and she suggested that I check out Audible.com. Since I was instantly hooked on the Serial Podcast, I figured I would see what it's all about. Audible is a sub-company of Amazon.com and is kind of like the audio version of Kindle. Any book that you could possible dream of is on the website, and you can listen to it within minutes. I signed up for the membership at $15/month, where you get 1 book credit every 30 days and can use your credit on whichever book you would like -aka any book. one a month. for $15... AND your first month/book is FREE! So for my first book, I chose to read ... or should I say listen to, "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me" by Mindy Kaling.
It was precious, inspiring, and hilarious. Thank you Mindy Kaling for being yourself and for the entertainment! I am able to listen to the audiobook while I am working or in the car and I was able to finish her book over a few days.
What are you reading/listening to?

Happy Monday! This week we are 23 (ish) weeks along in the pregnancy.
I say "ish" because little Carter is growing like a weed and my OBGYN says that he is a week ahead of our count. So if you want to get technical, you could say that we are 24 weeks, but for the sake of keeping everything on course, we will stick with 23.
According to TheBump.com, during week 23 of the pregnancy, the average baby is about 10.5 to 11.8 inches and about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces. At around week 23, it says that this is a good time to call our medical insurance and decide what adjustments we will want to make to add Carter to our policy. TheBump.com also encourages us to start a savings account. One study found that kids who have their own savings account are more likely to go to college!
Pregnancy Symptoms at 23 Weeks
- Swollen ankles and feet (not for me yet, thankfully)
- Braxton Hicks contractions (casually)
- Aching back. (yep)
In not-baby-news, we had a lovely and relaxing weekend at home. How was your weekend?

Anyone who knows Terrance knows how much his clients mean to him. His client Lindsay and her baby Harrison need your help.
Please go to their GoFundMe website and read baby Harry's story and donate if you're able to. Most importantly, keep baby Harry and his family, in your prayers.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love a good DIY project! So, with the anticipated arrival of our baby boy, this mama is crafting away! Firstly, I got an awesome idea from Pinterest and Sherwin Williams.
I gathered some handy supplies and got to work! Carter needs some mint green, horizontal stripes painted on his wall! |
I started with a blank wall (the color you see is the color that all of the walls in the room are). I then measured and taped horizontal rows, 12 inches apart. My plan is to paint every other stripe a mint green color!
Ta da!! This picture is after the painting was done, you can still see the tape ( I hadn't taken the tape off before I snapped the picture) but it looks pretty good!
Next craft in the room are these shelves from Ikea.
As with any Ikea product, I had to put the darn shelves together first. Then I painted them the same mint green as the wall, and now they're ready to be hung!
They were worth the work!
I also framed and hung a precious, Disney inspired Alphabet poster.

Mel

This past weekend, we enjoyed a girls weekend in Austin, TX and celebrated the soon-to-be Mrs. Aylsworth!
Sara and I have been friends since the moment that we met in the Tri Sigma house and I would definitely say that she and I are kindred spirits. I have loved getting to see her grow into the woman that she is today and in a little less than 2 weeks, we will get to see her marry the man of her dreams! A few weeks ago, we celebrated Sara and Steve's couples shower (you can read about that here) and this weekend was all about the Bachelorette!
The weekend started on Friday after work when I picked up Shannon and Kelsey and we were Austin bound! The weather was TERRIBLE and we drove through some really bad rain, but we made it in one piece. After dinner in Austin, we met up with Sara and the rest of the group! Shan, Kels, and I didn't stay at the same house as the rest of the girls - we stayed in a house down the lake that belongs to one of Kelsey's family friends. Although we ADORE Sara, we spent plenty of time with the group and this sleeping situation worked better for us.
On Saturday morning, we met up with everyone at the Spa at the Lake and had quality girl time mixed with massages, facials, and mani-pedis.
While we were at dinner, there was a giant hail storm in the Austin area. It was literally insane. Texas weather is so weird. After dinner, Shannon, Kelsey, and I headed back to the house and called it a night.
It was a nice weekend with some quality friend time and, as usual, Monday came too quickly. Now it's the countdown to the wedding! (May 1st at Briscoe Manor) Can't wait!

Mel

Happy Tuesday! This week we are 22 (ish) weeks along in the pregnancy.
Bump alert!
I say "ish" because little Carter is growing like a weed and my OBGYN says that he is a week ahead of our count. So if you want to get technical, you could say that we are 23 weeks, but for the sake of keeping everything on course, we will stick with 22.
According to TheBump.com, during week 22 of the pregnancy, the average fetus measures about 10.5 to 11.8 inches and weighs about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces. That was confirmed at our 20 week appointment when we found out that Carter was already 14oz! Also during week 22, he is invading my space, which is why it has gotten a little tougher for me to catch my breath and why my back is killing me. I have been told that this is also a good time to schedule a maternity portrait session. Personally, I want to wait until I am a littler father along and my bump is a little bigger, but it's on my to-do list!
Some additional Pregnancy Symptoms at 22 Weeks
- Increased libido.
- Stretch marks and maybe even a brand-new "outtie." These come with the expanding belly territory.
- Steady weight gain -- about 1/2 pound each week from here on out.
- Minor swelling in your hands and feet.
- Back aches, due to extra pressure from baby and carrying around the extra weight.
- Trouble catching your breath, as baby continues to crowd the lungs
In not-baby-news, we had a fun weekend in Austin for Sara's Bachelorette Party. I will post about it tomorrow.
Xoxo,
Mel
It's true! After about 3+ years of being MIA from Facebook, I am back! It took a little convincing from my husband, friends, and family - but here I am! And I am actually really excited about being back - it will be nice to stay connected with everyone again and enjoy sharing all of The Warren Family milestones! If we aren't already, let's be friends!
I am headed to a fun bachelorette weekend in Austin to celebrate my sweet friend Sara Epstein (soon to be Aylsworth). What are you doing this weekend?
Xoxo,
Mel
Totally worth the hype!
Anyone else feel me on this? It took me a while to jump on this Serial bandwagon, but I am really glad that I did!
For those who don't know, Serial is a podcast profiling a true story, told over multiple episodes, about the murder of Hai Min Lee. First released in October 2014, it's episodes vary in length and were available weekly. It ranked number one on iTunes before its debut and remained at the top for several weeks. It is hosted by Sarah Koenig, saying that Serial is "about the basics: love and death and justice and truth." It's so good and highly addictive - I recommend it!
What else are you really into these days? Tell me all about it!
Xoxo,
Mel
What a lovely weekend it was!
This past weekend, T and I were in San Antonio celebrating Pat and Perla's Wedding. Pat, Perla, and Terrance have been friends since college, and I am lucky enough to have been brought into this friendship circle. I have really enjoyed getting to know them and getting to see their relationship grow! They worked their tails off to be able to have the wedding of their dreams, and that is EXACTLY what they got.
T and I were able to help with the Groomsmen gifts ... Custom Beer Mugs!
On Friday we arrived in SA, checked into the Hyatt Place Hotel at the Quarry, and headed to the Wedding Rehearsal at the church and the Rehearsal Dinner at Los Barrios.
We woke up on Saturday morning and had a little bit of time to relax before Terrance's Best Man duties started. We started out day at Max's Wine Dive for brunch ... Yummy!!
After brunch and a few errands, it was go time!
Handsome best man and handsome baby bump!
After the ceremony, we headed to the gorgeous reception at the University of Incarnate Word Skyroom.
This wedding reception had everything! An awesome DJ, lovely table linens and decorations, tons of fresh flowers, a mariachi band, a 10 foot tall LED robot (wait ... what?), a photobooth, a great buffet, a candy bar, a yummy cake, an open bar, and lots of love and dancing!
Did I mention the 10 foot tall, LED dancing robot?

21 weeks and Carter is the size of a pomegranate!
My belly was big this morning after breakfast. It ranges in size based on if/what i've just eaten, but he is definitely growing in there! According to our visit last week, he weigh 14oz... almost to one whole pound!
At 10.5 inches and about 12.7 ounces, he is definitely big enough now that I have been feeling a lot of his movements. A few Pregnancy Symptoms at 21 Weeks include some heartburn and/or indigestion, dry, itchy skin, from all that stretching over my growing bump ( I am doing my best not to scratch and keeping my belly VERY moisturized to help prevent stretch marks!

Here is an image from his 20 week ultrasound. Hi big boy!
T and I are home from a fun weekend in San Antonio celebrating the Woolsey Wedding! Check back tomorrow for a post with all of the great wedding details.
