Half-Marathon Training, Weekly Update

Hi Everyone!

As part of my training, and accountability, I am going to provide weekly updates for my Disney Princess Half-Marathon training program! 


As you may, or may not, know I am participating in my FIRST EVER half-marathon on February 23, 2014. The race is the Disney Princess Half Marathon and it is held and Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. Pretty fitting for me, and pretty fitting for my new job! If you don't know about my new job, go read about it here.

To prepare myself (physically and mentally) I am following a Half-Marathon training for beginners program which has me running 3 times a week. This is my 3rd week on the program and it has been really good so far. On Monday and Wednesday mornings, I run 30 minutes. On Saturday OR Sunday morning, is when you complete your long runs. Running outside and sticking to the schedule or 3 days a week is KEY! Houston is just SO hot, that it makes it hard to get motivated sometimes. But after you are done, you just feel so great.

Jeff Galloway is the official RunDisney coach and he is so inspiring. The farthest I have fun with my program thus far is 4 miles. Here is this weeks schedule;

Monday 9.2.2013- 30 minute run
Wednesday 9.4.2013- 30 minute run
Saturday 9.7.2013- 3 mile run
