Hey Followers,
The month of August is one of the most exciting times in the city of Houston- Houston Restaurant Weeks!
What is Houston Restaurant Weeks? Established in 2003, it is a fun-filled dining event benefiting the Houston Food Bank. Houston Restaurant Weeks is the city's largest "for-charity" dining event held simultaneously in restaurants in the greater Houston area each year throughout the month of August. This year's dates: August 1 through September 2, 2013 (Labor Day).
We were lucky enough to experience 3 different restaurants and take part in their HRW menus. This is a great way to try some of the very best restaurants at an affordable price! Most menus include 2 or 3 course meals for $35 per person... Can't beat it!
Today, we got to experience not one, but TWO of the participating restaurants and officially were sent into a food coma. We started our morning out with Sunday brunch at Sorrel. YUMMY!!!! This was our first time to try out Sorrel, and we will DEFINITELY be back! The Houston Restaurant Week menu had some great options, and offered a 2 course meal for $20 per person.

The table shared coffee, mimosas, and pink sunsets before enjoying our meals. I decided to have the Lobster Cake Eggs Benedict for my main course and the Lemon Cheesecake as my dessert. Terrance opted for the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf.

After we woke up from a nap, it was dinner time. We decided to check out the Houston Restaurant Menu at Churrascos and what a great choice that was! Churrascos offered a 3 course menu option at $35 per person. I decided to start with the beef empandas. They were outstanding. I would be okay to have this as my main course, and will definitely come back for those! Sooo good. I followed the empanadas with a 6oz Churrasco steak, which was also muy delicioso. After a few glasses of wine, and 2 courses, dessert arrived! For my dessert choice, I picked the Tres Leches cake. It was also REALLY tasty.

We are so blessed to live in a city that has so much to offer and are equally blessed to be able to experience it one day at a time! Getting back on the grind tomorrow, but just know, if you don't hear from me for a few days- you'll know I am officially in a food coma. Keep me in your prayers.
Until next time! Xoxo
