19 Weeks

19 weeks already? Where has the time gone?
Baby is now the size of a Mango! Measuring about 6 inches and weighing about 8.5 oz. This week, I am experiencing some pains in my hips, but nothing I can't handle. Maybe I need to enlist Terrance for some hip and back massages! My belly is definitely growing and becoming more noticeable which is also giving me a little bit of discomfort, but all of these changes are good signs of a growing baby. Exercise is a must during pregnancy, but my lung capacity ain't what it used to be. Since i've got less oxygen available during pregnancy, I am still active everyday - but have taken my workout intensity down a notch. Also, Carter is working on his five senses. Nerve cells for his sense of taste, hearing, sight and smell are developing in his brain.

This weekend was full of fun! The weather was lovely and while Terrance celebrated his friend Patrick's bachelor weekend, I spent my weekend doing a few things around the house and spending time with some friends. On Saturday morning, I got a (much needed) mani pedi with Cara Banks! It was some nice girl time and a great way to kick off the weekend.

After the mani pedis, it was time for Sophia's Bridal Shower! Sophia works in the front office of the apartment complex where we live, but she has become a dear friend of me and Terrance. She and her fiance, John, are getting married in July and I was so happy to celebrate her this weekend!

Speaking of Sophia & John, here is the gift that I made them for her shower.

Y'all know that I love any excuse to craft!

Later that night, I met up with my sweet friend, Sara, for dinner at Cyclone Anaya's in City Center! It was great to spend some quality time together and get to catch up. I can't wait to celebrate her wedding in May! I thank God for SHSU and Tri Sigma for bringing these lifelong friends into my life. #pregnantmushymoment

On my way to dinner, I saw this painted on the sign of Lululemon...

Talk about some food for thought!

On Sunday, I started the day with a brunch at Barnaby's with some sweet neighbors.
We are all neighbors, but it is quite the multicultural table. Elina (next to me) is from Kazakhstan, and Yui and Mami are both from Japan. Super sweet ladies and happy to call them my friends!

How was everyone else's weekend?

Xoxo,
Mel
