Happy Monday! This week we are 29 (ish) weeks pregnant.
If you're wondering why I
say "ish" when describing how far along we are in the pregnancy, well,
that little Carter Warren is throwing us for a loop with how big he
actually is. Dr. Boon, my OBGYN, had said from the beginning that he
looked a week or so ahead of the August 24th due date. And THEN, when I
had my gallbladder surgery,
the surgeon said that he looks SEVERAL weeks ahead of my due date.
Hmmm... sounds to me like little Carter may be making an appearance a
little earlier than we thought ...
Nevertheless, we will continue with our baby count. According to TheBump.com,
during week 29 of pregnancy, the average fetus measures about 15.2 to 16.7 inches and weighs about 2.5-3.8 pounds. I have started to notice his little personality the more that I feel him move. Last night, I felt him hiccuping! I have also been having to make way more frequent trips to the bathroom due to his continued growth. Also, week 29 is a good time to start finalizing stuff, like stocking the nursery with baby care essentials and finalizing our child care plan. I have also been told to start thinking about packing our hospital bags. Hopefully we won't need them just yet, but we can leave it by the door and can grab it at a moment’s notice.
Pregnancy Symptoms at 29 Weeks
- Lots of kicks! (All that crowding.)
- Headaches and/or lightheadedness, possibly due to difficulty sleeping
- Itchy belly and stretch marks. My skin is stretching thinner, making it more sensitive.
- Back, leg or pelvic pain.
- Trouble sleeping -- still!
- Gotta pee -- again! The more my uterus expands, the more I have to hit the restroom.
In non-baby-news, we had an AWESOME weekend in the Texas Hill Country. Can't wait to post all about it tomorrow! OH and I am getting closer to transitioning my blog to my real, live, website! Continue to stay tuned about the big move.
Xoxo,
Mel
